communicating to your audience through experience, messaging, and branding: donohoe builders.

Donohoe Builders were a client I worked with as a part of a project with Turn It Up Media who was managing a brand refresh witha lot of targeting towards their website. Their old website was a Wordpress site that had been built by a shop that was no longer operating so they hadn't been able to update any info for years. We talked through the pros and cons of switching platforms and ultimately decided to change course and move to Wix because of the ease for them to update pictures, text, etc with ease and not feel overwhlemed by the CMS. It was a great solution for them to be able to make changes, add solid SEO, get connected to Google Analytics and their social channels without much fuss. Within the first week, they had already risen in the google page ranks of builders in Boulder which they had never been able to achieve in the first page of searches. When I build sites for clients, I always go in asking what their golas are and how involved they'd like to be in the management of their web pressence. If they're not super versed in web development, I'll guide them towards tools that help empower them and give them a sense of ownership. I've never been a fan of a client feeling like they're getting nickle and dimed or that any questions/help are going to cost them money, so I always work to find a solution and train clients on the platform they choose so they can feel confident to make changes if they want. Through this system of designing, I've built sites on Wordpress, Squarespace, Wix, and Pagecloud.
